About Us

A working farm, a family story, and more than two centuries of history.

The farm today

Shady Spring Farm is a working cattle farm set in the picturesque Great Cove valley of Fulton County, in south-central Pennsylvania. About 130 acres are dedicated to a herd of roughly 200 Black Angus and Black Baldy beef cattle.

The family purchased the farm in 2004 from Tony’s grandfather. It has been in the family for five generations — first bought in 1922 — and Barb and Tony have spent the years since restoring its historic buildings, including the 1880s Tenant House now offered to guests.
